One can hardly go wrong with anything involving Winnie the Pooh. A.A. Milne’s beloved characters are (rightfully so) a staple of childhood. From mine over 40 years ago to my daughter’s love of her Tigger doll. We watch the movies together, but more importantly we read the books together. Let me tell you, seeing your little girl successfully read the name Eeyore is one of life’s greatest experiences.

Over the years, there have been many movies and TV shows, some better than others. The newer CGI version with the little girl as their friend instead of Christopher Robin is ok, but doesn’t entirely capture the innocence of Pooh. But, better that than most of the children’s shows you’ll find these days.

“The Tigger Movie” tells the ‘tail’ (appropriately enough) of Tigger’s search for his family. Generally believing he is the ‘only one’, as he has sung for so many years, has made him a bit melancholy.

Hoping to brighten his spirits Winnie and company decide to pretend they are his family and write him a letter. When Tigger finds out about the deception, he opts to leave the Hundred Acre Woods forever. Worried about their friend, the gang heads out to find him, finding adventure along the way.

Originally released in 2000, “The Tigger Movie” is making a comeback on Disney DVD for its 10th Anniversary. This 2-disc set offers up all of the special features that were available on its original run, including the interactive storybook version of “The Tigger Movie”, a matching game, a sing-along version of “Round My Family Tree”, and a music video for Kenny Loggins’ “You Heart Will Lead You Home.” New to this set is Tigger Movie Trivia Game that unlocks an Easter Egg if you finish and two episodes of “The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.”

The best part however is the Digital Download copy of the film. This is something I’m hoping to see more and more with classic and kid’s films.

“The Tigger movie: 10th Anniversary Edition” is well worth your dime, if you don’t already have a copy of the film in your collection.
