NBA FINALS

(3) LOS ANGELES LAKERS vs. (1) NEW JERSEY NETS
Gallion : Time for information overload. If you payed attention, you'll realize that the #1 Seed Eastern Conference Champion New Jersey Nets were under .500 on the road during the regular season. The last time the Eastern Conference Champion was under .500 on the road during the regular season was the 1999-2000 season and it was the Indiana Pacers. Not too long ago, eh? Well, they didn't win the title that year. So, let's dig further. The last time the East Champ went under .500 on the Road during the regular season AND won the NBA Title was 1977-78. It was the #3 seeded Washington Bullets over the #4 Seattle SuperSonics (Who were under .500 on the road, too). So, it's been a while for that scenario. But, yet, we have another scenario that creeps in. When was the last time the #1 seed from the Eastern Conference, who also won the Eastern Conference Title, won the NBA Title while going under .500 on the road during the regular season? 1958-59. It was the #1 seeded Boston Celtics over the #2 Minneapolis Lakers. That's pretty fucking astounding, but there was only 8 teams in the league back then. If the Celtics had beaten the Nets, then I'd look hard at this stat, but since it's the Nets, this just further proves that they have ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE IN HELL OF WINNING. New Jersey, welcome to failure.
Ozzymadeo : Okay, so my Boston/LA prediction didn't come off as planned. Sure I said I guaranteed it would happen and that I'd sell my Lethaldeath stock to the highest bidder if it didn't happen. But in response to that, I say you're going to have to cough up some pretty hefty cash to get my share. Now, with that being said, we see the overhyped Nets of the ABA taking on the reigning dynasty of the NBA. You see, that's how it works in the NBA, dynasties. Now it's the Lakers. Before them it was the Bulls. Before them it was the Rockets and then the Bulls again. Before all that there was Detroit and before that Boston and LA and so on and so forth. With Los Angeles beating a whining Kings team, there's not a whole lot that can stop them. I will acknowledge that the Nets have some talent but so do trained monkeys. Shaq is going to come out and get all Kazaam on the collective ass of New Jersey, so much that not even Jon Bon Jovi can save them. And while Shaq is going insane like Godzilla on shitloads of crack, Kobe will be drinking his Sprite and making millions by just existing. And somewhere in the middle of this, Robert Horry will sink a three pointer. That's what he does, my friends. The Dynasty Du Lake will continue.
