Welcome.
Had a few things e-mailed to me and also had
some stuff rolling through my mind about the
Patriots/Raiders game from Saturday night.
I know it's a bit late, but that hasn't stopped
me before. If you've heard enough already,
skip this next part or learn some tolerance.
You'll live longer.
5 Questions about the Patriots/Raiders
Playoff Game :
Q : Was the correct call made on the apparent
Tom Brady fumble?
A : Yes. According to the "tuck"
rule in the rulebook, the correct call was
made after overturning the initial ruling
of a fumble.
Q : Was there conclusive evidence to overturn
the fumble call?
A : Absolutely not. This is where the NFL
violated their own standards. It was purely
judgemental on the first call and after watching
multiple angles, it was still that way. Thusly,
not conclusive evidence to overturn, and again,
violating their own rulebook here.
Q : Did the wrong team advance to the AFC
Championship Game?
A : Yes. Don't get me wrong, the Patriots
played a great game and staged an impressive
comeback in that snowy weather. But, this
doesn't excuse the disaster that occured on
the field. Hell, Brady was heading to the
sidelines after what happened (fumble). Ready
to spend the off-season wondering what happened
to his "magic".
Q : Did the Raiders make a mistake by running
out the last 30 seconds of the 4th quarter
without taking some shots downfield?
A : Yes. They had decent enough field position
to at least attempt some quick out passes
to get into field goal range. If I'm not mistaken,
they had at least one timeout, so they could
have even taken a shot in the middle of the
field. Tim Brown and Jerry Rice aren't chumps
and I'm sure they would have gotten open for
Gannon. Also, a 60 yard field goal shouldn't
be out of the question with Janikowski, no
matter how fat he is or how much date rape
drug he's taken. That's why they drafted his
subordinate ass in the first round.
Q : Is Jon Gruden cool?
A : Yep.
That does it for the 5 questions this time
around. I'll pop this through occasionally,
depending on what I get e-mailed, or how I'm
feeling about certain sports events. Think
it's a good/bad idea? E-mail
me and let me know how you feel. Or, you can
