Today, a surprise... I've included a very unedited
picture of Ozzy & I, but I thought it would
fit the mood for today's picks, so here it is:

NHL FINALS

DETROIT RED WINGS vs. (3) CAROLINA HURRICANES
Ozzymadeo : Somewhere out East, the Hurricanes
had to be watching the Avalanche/Red Wings game
and get excited because they knew in their hearts
that Colorado and Detroit would play each other
tough and take a lot out of one another. But two
minutes into the game, they had to be worried
as Detroit went up early. Then four minutes into
the game, the Wings scored again. Game Seven of
the Western Conference finals was all about things
going right for Detroit and things going wrong
for Colorado. The Hurricanes should worry. But
the Wings shouldn't underestimate the Hurricanes
. This is their first trip to the finals and they've
played every team they've faced well. They beat
the Devils, Canadiens and Maple Leafs to get where
they are and they'll do much the same against
the Red Wings... for about a period. Then Scotty
Bowman will flip a switch and the Wings will execute
the Hurricanes Russian Mafia style. When I originally
looked at the playoff tree in the beginning, I
mapped out my predictions and with that first
run I predicted a Carolina/Detroit final. Things
had changed since then and I doubted it would
in fact come to that conclusion. But here we are.
While I don't see it being a sweep, I see the
Wings dominating Carolina thoroughly. It's not
a hard thing to imagine. In fact, I reached into
the future and pulled out this picture <see
below>.
Gallion : Nothing I say will mean a fucking
thing. I went 0-7 in the East and 7-0 in the West.
This is fucking horrendous. Last year, I went
7-0 in the East, and did marginally well in the
West. I fucking give up. I will say this... the
lesser team can steal a game, but the better team
will win the series. My pick is below, in a picture.
That is all, from both Ozzy and I, that needs
to be said.
