Hard to believe another week has gone by. I'm so incredibly happy at my new job that time actually flies by. And I miss my old job so much that I... well actually I don't miss my old job at all. No more inept leadership, no more arrogant supervisors, no more cases of the blind leading the blind. Ahhhh... life is good when you leave the stupid behind...
Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II
Lil' Bush: Season 1
P2
There Will Be Blood: 2-Disc Special Edition
Water Horse: Legend of the Deep

I love April Fool's Day. I guess it's kind of the joker in me, but I enjoy the occasional prank, like making the desktop on my co-worker's monitors turn sideways or going into the bathroom with a Baby Ruth and... oh... never mind...

Ahem.. I'm not going to be a fool today with you, no sirreee. Instead I'm going give you the skinny on a fwe new DVDs, two of which actually get hit with my rare A+ rating. Can you guess which two?
Alvin and the Chipmunks
And Justice For All / Bobby Deerfield
My Kid Could Paint That
The Mist: 2 Disc Edition
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Wings: Season 6

I find it hard to believe that the new year came and went without my having the chance to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!! But as fate would have it, the combination of my changing jobs AND a little problem with our website host has caused me to be absent since November.

However, this IS a new year and with my new job comes a better salary, a better group of people to report to, and the chance to really make this here old website shine. I have a backlog of reviews that are beggin' to be read, so check back with me Friday to catch up. Then I'll be back EVERY week with a new set of reviews for ya'. so until then... CHEERS!

11/28/2007

My apologies dear readers that I have been out for the last three weeks. Some of you might remember that I mentioned a while back about the company I work for during the day was going through a "re-design." Well, I found out that the powers that be... in their finite wisdom... have decided that I was somehow not qualified to do the job I had been doing for 16 years. Sooo... the last few weeks have kept me tied up with finishing up projects and looking for new employment.

Fortunately, the second part of that may no longer be a problem... but it will still be a few days before I know for sure. In the meantime, I have one full day of work left and I'm out. So I'm going to spend the next few days catching up on reviews, so don't be surprised if the lists get pretty long. For today I have:
Captain N and the New Super Mario World
Mission Impossible: Season 3
The Wild Wild West: Season 3
Wings: Season 5

11/04/2007

I thought October was going to be a weird month, but it seems like a lot of the reviews that are coming your way in November are going to be even weirder. The first one today is not so strange, but the second... hoo boy... but I'll let you read it to see what I mean:
I Was Nineteen
The Italian Stallion

There's also a new movie hitting theatres this Friday (11/9) that's getting a lot of buzz. Can't wait to see it myself. It's called "P2." Check out the poster below. And be sure to check out the trailer in mov, wmv, or asx formats. Whichever suits ya best.

The night of ghosts and goblins is now behind us for another year. My friend is happily married and the evening of frights at the Darkside is little more than a bleary -eyed memory.

Today also marks the day before the premiere of comedian Jerry Seinfeld's newest project... an animated film called "Bee Movie." A few weeks back our intrepid reporter Gary Murray and I joined in on a press conference with Jerry when he visited Dallas to promote the film. You can check it out here.

I can't believe Halloween is tomorrow night. I'm even more surprised that we're not going to be home scari... I mean giving candy out to little kids. Instead, the wife and I are bringing our scary costumes to work so we can go out afterwards. We're headed to a place called, oddly enough, the Darkside Lounge (and if you live in Dallas I recommend stopping in).

We not only have some friends playing a show, but one of the band members is tying the knot... on stage... I'm assuming in costume. That's just the kind of friends I have.

So all you boils and ghouls have a good time tomorrow night, and if you;re not headed out, you might want to curl up on the couch and check out one of these DVDs:
Alfred Hitchcock Pre
sents: Season 3
Evan Almighty
Masters of Horror: The Damned Thing
NCIS: Season 4
Pumpkinhead 4: Blood Feud
Veronica Mars: Season 3

10/21/2007
As Halloween scoots ever closer, I've been noticing a lot more ghosts and goblins hanging around our neighborhood (which is a darn sight better than the usual gaggle of rednecks and... uh... well... more rednecks). I think I'll stay indoors and watch some more DVDs:
A Mighty Heart
Civic Duty
Metalocalypse: Season 1
Shark: Season 1
The Jazz Singer: 80th Anniversary Edition
The Paul Lynde Halloween Special

10/16/2007
This week we're kicking off with two new titles from Paramount and a rather unusual entry from Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Over the next few days I'm going to be posting several reviews for DVDs coming out this month, all while trying to decorate the house for Halloween:
Casshern
Medium: Season 3
Squidbillies: Volume 1

10/9/2007

10/7/2007
This time it's NOT the middle of the night so I'm not quite as sleepy. It's a beautiful Sunday afternoon, marred only by the fact that I have to mow. The morning was spent pushing my daughter on her swing (of which she never tires), the evening will consist of finishing up our Halloween Decorations... but for now I get to tell you about a few new DVDs:
Bram Stoker's Dracula: Collector's Edition
Creature Comforts America: Season 1
Criminal Minds: Season 2
Misery: Special Edition
Poltergeist: 25th Anniversary Edition
Sun Dogs
The Secret World of Alex Mack: Season 1

Cruising
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Final Draft

Today I have to be brief. No quickie one-liners... no picking on my place of employment... can't even rag on my family. I've gotta rush out today so I only have enough time to tell you about some of this month's DVDs. Tomorrow... I joke!!

Charmed: Season 8
Ghost Whisper: Season 2
Smallville: Season 6

9/11/2007
More and more Halloween decorations are beginning to find their way into our house, and we're getting excited about visiting some Haunted Houses in the next couple of weeks. As we get even closer to October, I'm going to start throwing out my two cents on some of the attractions in the DFW area, so stay tuned!

This week brings a whole slew of new DVD reviews:

Bones: Season 2
From Beyond: Unrated Director's Cut
Robot Chicken: Season 2
Supernatural: Season 2
Two and a Half Men: Season 1
The Wind That Shakes the Barley

9/4/2007 I'm beginning to feel it. Can't you? It's already the beginning of September and in just a few short weeks... the Halloween season will be upon us. My wife and I have already begun to celebrate, with little spooky knick knacks findng their way out of boxes and onto our shelves.... Okay, we're a little weird... I admit it.

I'm hoping that we'll start hitting you with we few more reviews for scary movies to get into the spirit of things. But in the meantime, what could be scarier than a Will Ferrell movie:

Blades of Glory
Bubba Ho-Tep: Hail to the King Edition
Samurai Jack: Season 4

8/28/2007 Wow, the week gets even better. Now I have two possible job offers on the line so escape may actually be in the cards for me. Stay tuned. This brightness of temperment has also enabled me to focus more in my writing so I'm getting a lot of reviewing done:
Blood in the Face
Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures
Dexter: Season 1
House: Season 3
Howling with the Angels
Sacco and Vanzetti

8/25/2007 This has been a productive week. I was able to spend a lot of time reviewing DVDs, so I have a lot more than I usually have for one given day. These should keep you busy for a while:
Air Guitar Nation
Dark Crystal: 25th Anniversary Edition
JAG: Season 4
Labyrinth: Anniversary Edition
Legion of Superheroes: Volume 1
Loonatics Unleashed: Season 2
Rowan Atkinson Live!
South Park: Season 10
Spawn: 10th Anniversary Edition
The Odd Couple: Season 2

8/20/2007

Sometimes these weeks seem to fly by, other times they drag as thought time has stopped. As I'm getting older I honestly think I prefer the ones that drag... that way I'm not rushing to my... uh... impending doom. Thankfully I'm not THAT old and impending or not, that doom should be a long, long, long way off. (Unless of course, I get poppped by some idiot gang member or crazed gunman considering this has become such an increasingly violent world.

That said, I'm glad I have this neat little 'hobby' that allows me the opportunity to watch movies and shows that I might not have had the chance to otherwise. For example, this week I sat back to watch these DVDs:
Darkman Trilogy
Flash Gordon: Saviour of the Universe Edition
Serenity: Special Edition
The Simpsons: Season 10

8/14/2007

This week is turning out to be a great one, now that things are back in order. I'm slowly catching up on reviews, so as not to waste any more time, here are a couple more to keep you going until tomorrow night:
Extras: Season 2
Rome: Season 2

8/12/2007

Ahhh... as if the pressures of waiting word on a new job weren't bad enough, Lethal Death was without a domain name for a few days. That's right... the silly company that registers the name opted to expire it. Though it is not owned by me directly, I thought I'd save a little time by paying for it myself.... but because I did not have the proper passwords this same silly company would not let me pay for it.

Let's think about that for a moment shall we? I was not asking the company to change the ownership to me, nor was I asking them to give me any secret passwords. I did not require any information that would casue a breach of any security. I simply wanted to give them some moola in order to get the name out of expiration mode. They would not accept my money... for shame foolish company.

Anyhow, one of my good friends who started this site so many years ago came through at the last minute with all the log in names and password... allowing me not only to pay for the name, but actually change all the ownership over to me. So dear readers, Lethal Death will never expire again. (Death? Expire? Hmmm...ironic...)

So we're now back in business with one review to kick start the fun. Over the next few nights there will be more... oh so many more...:
Disturbia
